We watched the videos of the IDEO shopping cart redesign. This continues to be one of my favs because it’s such a great way to intro the design process. We taped the notes “flip book” style in our engineering notebook so as to only take up one page. A student fixed my pencil sharpener at lunch, not the first thing he’s fixed already this year!
Today we got all our accounts set up on the computer and then did the Product Improvement activity. They brainstormed with post it’s, then organized them, then sketched their top 3 fav ideas. SO MANY POST ITS!!
Went over notebook etiquette and then jumped right in with some concept sketching. I followed along on the board so that the “non artists” in the class would feel better about themselves. 😉
Started things off with the tried and true marshmallow tower challenge! Gave them unlimited tape and they ran with it, lots of fun for the first day. 😎
